The Birds

Inspired by Clare Walker Leslie’s Book, The Curious Nature Guide, I wrote this from the chapter, “Begin Where You Are.”

Early morning birds chirping

Reminds me of my youth

When the birds were in the city

One a-plenty

The crow, cawing

The pigeons cooing

Talking to each other

Perhaps

Was that a croak?

I wonder which animal that was?

September 2023, 5.30am

After the rainy weekend

Still tweeting from afar

The sound of quiet

Reminding us there is

life out there

Free to roam

Not locked inside

About Me

I am an Elementary school teacher , I taught at an International IB School in Accra, Ghana. I am now teaching in Hanoi. Writing is my passion and I try to write daily, at least in my sentence a day journal, to capture all the blessings around me. I write with groups of writers, such as Teach Write and sometimes Ethical ELA. I also encourage my friends to write , so I created a platform to make that possible -Writing Run.
