My monthly intention for July, now seems like a packed memoir. When I got to the sentence stem about one thing I’m grateful for, I was drawn to the school I worked at, for over sixteen years.
I started to write about the experiences I enjoyed there, which is taking me days to complete. I will share a snippet of my experiences here.
Working at an International (IB) school ,here in Ghana (my home country), I listed the opportunity I had to travel to many countries around the world to seek some profession-changing training or professional development.
I also reminisced about the colleague-friends I have made, most of them from different continents, I listed over twenty different nationalities. Not forgetting, the students I taught over the years who are also from many countries around the world.
The opportunity to learn about different tribes in Ghana, from local colleagues was a significant addition to my cultural journey. I have learned about different languages and added to my repertoire of local intellectual awareness through words, music, art and field trips.
Gratitude also goes to, the different grade levels I taught and what I learned from the abilities of different age groups, the progression that I continue to learn about and the wealth of experience spanning through pre-kindergarten , grades two, four and five.
For all the above and more I am truly grateful.
