Christmas Break

In order to find a topic to write about, I read through my recent posts. That was a bit surreal. Time does fly. I never thought December would come by so soon.

I’m now back in Ghana for our Christmas reunion. It feels so good to be home for a visit. That sounds funny, but yes I am home for a visit. As I’m back to my original routine, parts of my day feels the same. I don’t really feel as if I have been away for five long months.

It’s great sharing stories about my life in Hanoi. A few friends have already visited my Instagram page where I share snippets of my life in Hanoi. I vowed to at least post once a month as a record for myself.

I’m trying to make the most of this visit, eating local foods, meeting up with old friends and family and soaking in the Ghanaian sun. I seem to have a packed daily schedule but one thing that is holding me back is the jet lag! My body is still working on seven hours ahead, during the day I feel extremely sleepy, and stay fully awake at night.

As I aim to enjoy my stay, I am thinking about the local goodies I will be taking back with me, especially knowing what I missed during the five months away. I add to my list daily but can only take back so much.

Now I have to pause, focus on the Christmas celebration and worry about the rest later!

About Me

I am an Elementary school teacher , I taught at an International IB School in Accra, Ghana. I am now teaching in Hanoi. Writing is my passion and I try to write daily, at least in my sentence a day journal, to capture all the blessings around me. I write with groups of writers, such as Teach Write and sometimes Ethical ELA. I also encourage my friends to write , so I created a platform to make that possible -Writing Run.
