Boat Tour

Orange jackets dotted the lake
tourists from far and wide
seeking the same respite
enjoyed the boat ride that
revealed the serene setting
of mountains and rice paddies

A long and windy route
revealing low caves that
gave the ride a mysterious feel
To top it all, the expert paddling
with feet, giving his legs a
thorough work out

Relaxing, calming, emanating
a warm restful reward for
the break that was long
awaited, sounds of paddling
filled the air, with subtle whiffs
sharing the home of sea creatures
on this weekday of my holiday

  2. OOOH! I want to know more. Where? What did you see? How did you feel? Was this out of your comfort zone? A new experience? A long-awaited one?

Yes this was a new experience. A day out in Ninh Binh, two hours drive from Hanoi, Vietnam. It was a beautiful boat ride at Tam Coc ,very gentle and serene. There were rice paddies and the landscape was amazing. Many picturesque mountains and caves. I went for the day trip with my relatives visiting from Europe.
