Words are Gifts

Book Stares

When I laid on the sofa this afternoon, my book collection on the shelf stared at me. All new and ready to be devoured. I now have quite a collection. I bought most of them because of what they can add to my life as a teacher, so I convince myself I have to make time to read them.

I place two of them at my bedside, hoping to catch a chapter or two before nodding off. This has been very slow, as the nods appear very fast and then the chapter turns into a couple of pages.

I challenged myself to write a Triolet about my books today! Not so easy, but I did my best with the abaaabab scheme.

Hidden Words

When words hide in books you can be the one to redeem, discover their content in nooks when words hide in books an assortment that hooks, find spots of time to scheme when words hide in books you can be the one to redeem.

  2. Juliette, wow, so sweet. I can really relate to the nighttime reading just being a few pages before I nod off. Nice job on your triolet. I like the idea of redeeming the ideas and words in books. That’s how that stack of books will benefit you, as you redeem them.

  3. I understand the nodding off quickly! My TBR pile is getting very big. I will make it my mission this week to redeem some of those words. Thanks for the new way to look at them.

  4. Yes, the nodding off to sleep gets us all, unless you find one of those books that pulls at your heart and puts a fire inside you demanding you read it! I hope you find one of those books on your shelf.

  5. I have to make time before bed if I’m to ever make significant progress on my WTR (want to read) pile. Bedtime always means pages and sometimes just paragraphs before sleep overtakes me.

Lovely triolet! It’s a form that I’ve never tackled.

Yeah, definitely felt that. I can soooo relate haha.

I never heard of a Triolet before, so thank you for introducing me to that form by talking about one of my favorite things (books!)
