She came to visit and brought such warmth and joy. My Sunday would have been a very quiet one. Not speaking unless the phone rang or I chose to speak to myself. I would have been cooped up on the sofa staring at my screen or the other depressing screen, bombarding us with news we do not need to hear! I'm sure I would have chosen to snack and ended up eating loads of carbs my body does not need. I would have felt hungry and visited my fridge and maybe eaten my last juicy guava by myself, my body would have been grateful for that. That Sunday afternoon nap would have visited me as I make the sofa comfy just for that. My body may have been thankful for the extra rest that I never get during the week. That would have also taken me away from the screens I am surrounded by.
Then it became lively. My home was at a point filled with the aroma of home cooked food. There were conversations about this, that and the other. There was so much catching up on. Humans share more similarities than we care to notice.
Leaving with it a warmth and joy that I do not take for granted. Living abroad solo has its pros and cons. Feeling lonely over the weekend is one of them. Receiving a Sunday visitor is refreshing.
