Writing My Story

I’m yet to finish the fiction I’m writing. That story came to me long before I started putting pen to paper. I kept planning the story in my imagination. I kept adding elements of the story in my thoughts.

Suddenly, I knew exactly what I wanted to write. I could see my characters and made them real people in my thoughts. That helped make the story quite realistic.

The setting is somewhere I have been. A place I have actually walked once. It took me to my childhood and some of the explorations we encountered as children. Making the story one I have lived a part of, enabled my words flow easily.

It still did not make it easy to write two thousand five hundred words .It took me many weeks. I would start and stop, think deeply about the problems and solution and figure out if it would all come together.

I am still writing the ending and hoping to finish it by tomorrow. That would give me time to read over it and revise and edit it before posting on the deadline date.

I hope when it is posted I will receive constructive feedback that will guide me when I am writing my next story.

  1. I wonder how many of us here (and everywhere!) have a story inside us that we think on. But you are writing it! Bravo, and you are an inspiration! I for one will be so glad to read it and give feedback, to encourage you on your next story.
And I think you were so wise, when you observed that by making part of the story life that you have lived, it helped you write more freely. I also note how you stop and think deeply, about how your characters will solve their problems. Again, you inspire.
