Staying Connected

My sister called. She calls often, or I call. We always have so much to talk about. Many topics come up. There is normally nothing in particular to discuss. We chat about food, clothing, jokes, our children, our husbands, our siblings, work and any other news.

Whilst talking to her, there was a beep and she said Jay was calling her from the USA. I suggested we go off and include Jay, a mutual friend, on our call. Suddenly I noticed another call coming through to mine. This time it was, my three sisters-in-law and their cousin, calling from afar.

It was a nice surprise, we spoke for a short time about an event we are organizing. I’m glad they sought my opinion, from so far away. As I did not have any answers for them yet, it was a short call. I promised to call back over the weekend.

I look forward to my regular calls from home and my Sunday calls with my children. It is always nice to see them all on the call. I remember when I used to wait for weeks to hear from my parents.

Staying connected is one positive about today’s technology. I wish we would have had it when my children were little, so my mom could have “seen” my kids more often.

Writing is my passion and I try to write daily, at least in my sentence a day journal, to capture all the blessings around me.
