Thunder Again

The bangs were loud, I woke up with startled by the noise. It continued rumbling throughout the night. I did not hear the rain so I got out of bed, peeped through the window and saw the rain drops on the balcony.

Throughout the night the rumbling continued. Sometimes a loud bang would announce itself. There has not been such a continuous ruckus that has kept me awake like this. Especially on a night that I needed my eight hours of sleep.

As I type this at 5am, the loud sound continues. Unexpected yes, as it is not the rainy season. It’s been humid though, so I guess the cool rain is welcome. More claps are sounding now as I type. It makes me wonder when it will all end.

Now I can hear the rain teeming down ferociously. The plants and lawns will be pleased. Maybe they are not affected by the loud thunder which now pops up every now and then.

I may have to write about how we cope with a day of thunderous bangs. It is quite alarming how the sound keeps showing up. Crackles, roars with the added teeming rain drops. I wish it was the weekend!

  1. I am looking forward to the start of rainy season- it is getting hot! We have had a few rainy evenings, which is so unusual. I hope you sleep better tonight!

  2. Love the personification of a loud bang ‘announcing’ itself. I AM HERE, ARE YOU HERE TO GREET ME? Sorry you didn’t get the sleep you needed. 😦
