I am always amazed at what can be produced with the Window Frame Poetry organizer when used with a photograph. A colleague shared one with us. When I use it in class I usually ask my students to choral read their poems. All students read a line from the same box and continue with each of the other boxes. This makes the choral reading enticing and the repeated ‘theme’ shows emphasis.
Trees and twigs relying on each other
Sunshine seeping through
Togetherness, reliance a warm feeling
Distant birds chirping, announcing their existence
What else lives here?
Crunchy leaves, twigs, togetherness, a warm feeling.
What a wonderful idea!!

Sounds like a good way to help students to stir up thoughts and frame them into a poem. I like that the organizer is like a window frame for the picture.

This is a perfect prompt for all the calendar pages I’ve saved over the years. I love how you use the choral reading to share. Is there any way you could share a printable link to the window frame organizer?

I like when structures support writing. It allows to to play with variations and everyone can feel success.
