Who is he?

I have been struggling to find a topic today. This morning, I wrote about the church service, but felt it was a slice I had to add to. So this evening I felt I should just write a story. So here it is – the beginning.

She spotted him during the remedial classes. He was with the high school class and she had a subject to resit. It was during one of the recesses when they suddenly locked eyes. She could not take her mind off him and struggled to focus in class. Her plan was to find him and approach him, but her peers discouraged her.

“Wait for him to talk to you first, ” they’d chime.

The rebel in her made a plan, to follow him to his lesson and ask for his contact number.

Interestingly, just when she decided to pursue him, she did not see him again. She began to think that their first contact was just her imagination. This bothered her a lot and made her react in different ways.

She would talk to herself sometimes, causing stares from her classmates. After the first week, she decided to miss her lesson and wait at the entrance to the hallway to see if he would resurface, convincing herself that this was a real encounter. She gave up after a couple of days. Squeezing her face anytime she thought of him.

About a month later, whilst rushing to class she saw the tall, lanky guy coming the opposite direction, her heart skipped a beat, he smiled at her but she stopped in her tracks, speechless until he walked past her and disappeared.

  1. Oh, I am intrigued! This story has a great hook and I would love to read more. Also, when I saw your title, I thought of Bill Withers’ “Who Is He and What Is He To You?” LOL!
