My Story, a Reflection

My 2,500 word story was completed and posted yesterday.
Before posting, I read it a couple of times to make sure the story flowed .I also made a movie of the story in my mind. At the same time, I had to make sure I was delivering to the prompt we were given.

I woke up to some feedback which is making me think about parts of the story. The beauty of the writing process is that any draft can be revised until the story feels real or true.

The feedback I received is exactly what I needed, to ensure the theme of the story was still held. The content I chose, I now realise could have been delivered in many different ways making sure the reality of the plot was delivered differently.

It also made me think about my characters and their role in delivering the plot and solving it. The timing and pace of the story was also mentioned as one I could adapt.

The action could have been given more than a paragraph of appropriate consequences. Working with a word limit that I thought I could not achieve I believe I could have extended the ending.

About Me

I am an Elementary school teacher , I taught at an International IB School in Accra, Ghana. I am now teaching in Hanoi. Writing is my passion and I try to write daily, at least in my sentence a day journal, to capture all the blessings around me. I write with groups of writers, such as Teach Write and sometimes Ethical ELA. I also encourage my friends to write , so I created a platform to make that possible -Writing Run.
