Every year I get braver and more courageous with my words and stance as a writer. I’ve learned a lot from my many mentors here. I also have a long list of different moves as my ‘go to’ on a ‘dry’ day.
Where did this month go? It flew by without us noticing.
Is it because we are busy with the ‘on-campus’, ‘online’, ‘hybrid’ or ‘concurrent’ teaching?
Next March, all these words or some of them may be a thing of the past.
I’m grateful to the Two Writing Teachers, and the friends who always gave me such impactful feedback.
I’ll end with ‘Me da mo ase paa,’ ‘thank you very much’ in Twi a language spoken in Ghana, West Africa.
Until next March, my goal is to keep writing.

Juliette, it’s been wonderful to write with you over the past month! I look forward to your continued writing in the days, months, and years ahead.

I am also so grateful, and share your goal – let’s keep writing, leaning in to the discomfort AND strength that comes from this practice. Congrats on Slicing well done!

I have loved learning from this community of writers on how to push through my dry days. I am really hoping that next March some of these “new” words will be a thing of the past.

I love that in your reflection you also paused to look ahead. So much YES to not having to hear the word “hybrid” every day a year from now! Maybe we will all look back on 2021 slices with appreciation of have far we have come. Thank you for the beautiful and positive reminder!

Me da mo ase paa, Juliette. You’re an inspiration to me. And the reason I’m here. 🙂

I agree with everything you say, Juliette. Your curiosity and bravery to try new forms are remarkable. The one post that still sticks with me is the one about Loudly and Quietly. The rainstorm and the laundry. We are writing to be heard, rainstorm or not. Thank you for your comments and encouragement. Keep writing and see you next year.
