In response to the invitation from Leigh Anne , I am sharing my colors.
The best blue is the hue of light-blue that paints my fourth floor window. It is magical; the sky in all its majesty, fills the window as I look straight ahead.
The best brown is the wood, natural ‘wooden’ beams that create a sense of being out there.
The best yellow is the sun, hidden up there, sometimes very visible, most of the time mostly covered.
The best white is what we wear for christenings, special birthdays and thanksgiving ceremonies.
The best black is the funeral attire. Pitch black even with a slight sheen.
The best green is the tropical vegetation, tufts of green from above, encircling us.
The best multi- colored woven patterns of my Kente cloth (from the Ashanti tribe), each string tightly and richly woven into this mesh of culture. All the patterns sharing a message.
